Community Champion of the year nominee and Miss Zimbabwe UK First Princess Amanda Nkomo has set up a project to educate and donate to children in the rural areas of Zimbabwe. We caught up with Amanda to hear about her experience.
"For as long as I can remember I’ve always said I want to give back and help those who are in need. My project started off as just an idea which has finally come to life. My project was done in Tsholotsho Zimbabwe the rural areas where I felt help was needed and I Place I also come my home. I went to two different schools the first one was Mhlanbanguba primary school where I donated books, pens and rulers to the school. The second school was my grandfathers school Landa John Nkomo high school where I also donated books, pens and rulers to the children there. I also got a chance to talk to the boys and girls on who I am and what I do,. After this I got a chance to have some time with just the girls this is where I handed out each girl a packet of pads and also had some girl talk on topics such as relationships, health and periods, education, family and friends etc. I really got to talk and get to know the girls better this was so beautiful to do. During this the girls also got juice and biscuits, we talked and laughed a lot it was so lovely and the girls got to know me better too. This is one of my very many project I have planned for the future as my charity foundation is still coming together I have so much planned for children all over Zimbabwe and by the Grace of God I can’t wait to do this. My aim for my chairty foundation and projects is giving back and building a better Zimbabwe. I live by my motto “My Zimbabwe, Your Zimbabwe, Our Zimbabwe”."
We would like to commend Amanda for her hard work and charity,
